You may have experienced a power outage due to storms, where you were left without a power supply for some time. There have also been lots of reports in the news recently that due to the increasing demands on the National Grid we may experience power outages, over the next 10 power outages are set double.  If those reasons apply to you, or you would just like to ensure that in the event of a power outage, your home will have emergency power backup then a generator is the solution.

Standby Power Generation UK Limited, are here to advise you on the correct generator for you and can also undertake installation and maintenance giving you total peace of mind.

How does the standby generator system work?

A set mounted generator control panel and separate transfer switch will be installed and will automatically control the starting and stopping of the generator when required. If there is a power cut the backup generator will start automatically within seconds of a power cut and restore electricity supply to your home or business. When the mains electricity supply returns the system will automatically switch back to the mains and turn off the generator. The changes happen within seconds and you should experience only minor disruption.

How do I know which generator I need?

We can help and advise you on the type and size of generator you require.

We will need to know the total power consumption of your home and if you require the generator to provide you with a total power solution during a power cut or a reduced emergency supply to keep essential devices functioning. To calculate your requirements we can look at your electricity bills to find the kWh consumption. A quick method to calculating your consumption would be to divide the total kWh consumption by the number of hours in the billing period. However this will give you an average of the hourly consumption and allowances would need to be made for peak requirements. SPG-UK will help you calculate your requirements and select suitable generators for your individual requirements. Click here to contact us
